A message from Shipyard

Ronnie Simpson, Pumpkin Head and Fred Forsley before Ronnie’s first Global Solo Challenge.

Dear Monhegan Island Race & Seguin Island Sprint Participants,

On behalf of all of us at Shipyard Brewing Company, welcome! We’re thrilled to once again support this great event that brings together sailors, friends, and fans of Maine’s spectacular coastline. These races are a true celebration of nautical tradition, community spirit, and the rugged beauty of life on the water.

At Shipyard, we believe life’s finest moments are meant to be shared—whether that’s a strong wind filling the sails, a peaceful sunrise over the bay, or a well-earned beer with your crew after a day on the water. Born and brewed in Maine, we take pride in being part of events like this that reflect our passion for adventure, connection, and the great outdoors.

As you sail toward the finish and settle in at the end of the day, we hope you’ll toast your efforts with a favorite Shipyard brew—be it our signature Export Ale, a seasonal selection, or something new from the tasting room. It’s our small way of saluting your part in a cherished coastal tradition.

Here’s to fair winds, spirited competition, and memorable moments shared along the coast we all call home.

Cheers,
Fred Forsley
