What a race it was! Elixir on the podium in Bermuda Race.
On June 19th saw a fleet of 144 boats take off for Bermuda. The race started with a breeze, had a light air bunch up for most boats just shy of Bermuda, and then a parade in for the finish.
Elixir - Soren Schroeder’s Bristol 47.7 took 3rd place in the Finisterre (non-spinnaker) division, and 3rd in their class, after 4 days, 5 hours and 20 minutes! I bet they will have some great stories to tell at the Monhegan party this year.
Isobel - Todd Lalumiere’s Brooklin Boat Yard custom finished in 3 days, 17 hours and 33 minutes and landed in 8th place for their class and 15th overall in the Gibbs Hill Division (that’s the division featuring Black Jack 100 - the go fast that crushed the course in 1 day and 11.5 hours this year) Richard Hallett was on board, make sure to ask him how his crossing went this time around when you see him at the Monhegan Party. He is taking on the Monhegan course double handed.
Wild Blue - John Wilkinson’s J122 finished in just under 4 days and 4 hours landing in 67th for the division and 14th for their class. They will be back to challenge for line honors in the Monhegan fleet again after crossing first in 2024.
Congratulations to all who participated and we look forward to hearing their stories at the Monhegan party on July 30!
