THE PARTICIPANTS

The Audience

There are currently over 44,000 people participating in the activity of sailing in Maine.  Demographically the majority are between the ages of 36 and 65.  Most sailors are married and have a college degree, have a household income of above $90,000, own 2 or more cars, own a boat, and 70% are male and 30% are female.  Also many of the sailors are managers or business owners and can afford the luxuries of life, such as vehicles, boats, vacations, and vacation homes.  The majority of sailors reside in the Greater Portland area with some hailing from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and other Maine locations. 

Who we market to

Through our websites, email lists, media partners and other avenues of outreach, we connect with hundreds of thousands of sailors each year. We specifically target sailors and boat owners from Maine and New England who participate in racing.

The Participants

There are anywhere from 10 to 60 boats at a given event or race night which translates to anywhere from 50 to 300 sailors. We also have an additional support staff, volunteers and members that attend the events that can add between 10 to 50 additional people to each event. In all there are over 150 unique boat owners that participate and over 1500 individuals that attend these events.
